For the Royal Baby Watchers

We were really excited that William and Kate were able to follow our detailed itinerary to have the baby while we were in London for only three days.

After we heard of the birth, we stopped by around 11pm to see the announcing letter which is displayed on an easel at the main Buckingham Palace gate for the public to see. We waited in line (or a friendly mob?) during one of the hottest nights in London of the last six years and grabbed a few shots for those interested!

It was quite the party at Buckingham Palace!

We had to wade through this group to get the 2nd picture!

  1. Hoping they name him Lance or better yet James Lance. Brought back memories to see you there and also anticipation for September. Know you are having a great time. Hope your hotel is living up to your expectations. Considering it ourselves as well as Cavendish, Reuben’s at the Palace, and St. Ermins among others. If you have any good meals, let me know. Have fun and know we are praying for you. Lance

    • I think Lance is good too! πŸ™‚ it’s funny you asked about the hotel because I had just told Ryan that I needed to email you. If you happen to be staying there on a Sunday night, you get the night free if you sign up for their rewards program (which is totally free too). They also give you 25 pounds off a lunch on Sunday. We actually ended up saving more than we spent there. I’m not quite sure why they have such a great sign up incentive, but I’ll take it. I told Ryan that I wanted to make sure it worked before I mentioned it. You might want to check it out.

We did have a great lunch at Bocca Di Luppo near Picadilly Circus.

Tell Connie hello too! Have a great day!

  2. Great timing for the Royal Baby! We were wishing we were there for the excitement. Glad your trip is of to a great start.

  3. I should have guessed the “Hover-razzi” would photo bomb Buckingham Palace and the royal news. Cheer-io Pip Pip Ol’ boy. How was tea with Mr. and Mrs. Crumpet and all the wee Crumpets? You know what kind of tea we like in America? —Liber-tea! Did you stop for bangers and mash with Michael Caine? Perhaps a Fish and Chips Happy Meal with King Ralph at his place? Ask a Limey what kind of dance we do in America? —Indepen-dance! Who fought for the British during the Revolution? —Rudolf the Redcoat Reindeer! I’m surprised you weren’t scared to go near Buckingham Palace. You know the British say it’s haunted…by The Spirit of ’76! Are you one of those tourists who set outside the landmarks of London sketching in a notebook. What are they called…let me see…Oh yeah…Yankee Doodlers!

    • Mr. Rohrs – I swear that you must spend every waking hour coming up with all of these rhymes and thoughts! It seems like a good idea we left London given all of the trouble we have seemed to cause πŸ™‚

    • Looks good! We may have to try this out on our second stop in late Aug. Marie-Odile kept us well fed on stop #1:)
